View approved original text

This medication is used to help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It is administered alone to patients who have not previously received diabetes treatment, and it is used in combination with metformin when blood sugar control is difficult with monotherapy. Furthermore, it is used in combination when blood sugar control is insufficient with monotherapy of sulfonylureas, metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin. If blood sugar control remains difficult even with multiple medications, this medication is additionally administered to improve blood sugar levels. Depending on the patient's condition, it can be used alone or in combination therapy, playing an important role in effective blood sugar management and diabetes treatment.
