This medication is used in conjunction with diet and exercise to help patients with type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugar levels more effectively. It can be used alone or in combination with other diabetes medications. This helps improve blood sugar management and aids in controlling symptoms of diabetes. Therefore, this medication is used for blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is administered at a dosage of 100 mg once daily for monotherapy or combination therapy, with a maximum daily dose of 100 mg. This medication can be taken regardless of meals. Dose adjustment is not necessary for patients with mild renal impairment. Precautions

This medication may cause serious allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. During treatment, acute pancreatitis may occur, so if symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting arise, promptly visit a hospital. Patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis should not take this medication. Avoid this medication if you have an allergy to it or its components. Patients with decreased kidney function must adjust the dose of this medication and take it according to a doctor's instructions. When taking this medication with other blood glucose-lowering agents, there may be an increased risk of hypoglycemia, so be alert for symptoms of hypoglycemia and check blood sugar levels frequently if needed. Symptoms such as headaches, upper respiratory infections, nasopharyngitis, indigestion, diarrhea, nausea, increased blood triglycerides, gastritis, weight loss, hypertension, hypernatremia, and erectile dysfunction may occur during treatment; report any severe or persistent symptoms to your doctor. If severe joint pain or blistering skin symptoms occur, discontinue this medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Pregnant or nursing women are advised not to take this medication, and the safety and efficacy for children or adolescents under 18 years have not been adequately confirmed. Older adults should undergo kidney function tests before taking this medication, as kidney function may decline, and should regularly monitor kidney function during treatment. In the case of overdose, immediately go to a hospital for appropriate treatment; this medication can be partially removed through hemodialysis, so dialysis treatment may be considered if necessary.
