This medication is used to prevent neuropathic diseases that may occur due to cisplatin or chemotherapeutic agents of a similar class. It helps to reduce the side effects that may appear in the nervous system during cancer treatment, thereby protecting the patient's neurological function.
In severe cases, 600-1200 mg is administered via intramuscular injection or intravenous drip daily. For treatment over several days or in mild cases, 300-600 mg is administered via intramuscular injection or intravenous drip daily.
This drug may rarely cause serious allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, so if symptoms such as facial pallor, decreased blood pressure, or irregular pulse occur during use, administration should be stopped immediately. Also, if a skin rash or hypersensitivity reaction occurs, it is necessary to discontinue the use of the drug. Gastrointestinal symptoms may rarely include decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain, so caution should be exercised if these symptoms arise. This medication is provided as a vial preparation and should be used immediately after dissolving, so it should be prepared quickly during dispensing. When administered by intramuscular injection, care should be taken to avoid nerves or blood vessels, and if repeated administration is necessary, the injection site should be changed to avoid continuous injection into the same area. This drug should be stored in a safe place out of reach of children, and transferring the medication to another container from the original container poses a risk of contamination or misuse, so it should always be kept in its original container with the lid tightly closed.
