Improvement of hypertension and hypercholesterolemia, reduction of cardiovascular disease risk
This medication is used for patients who need to take both telmisartan and rosuvastatin simultaneously. Telmisartan is primarily used for the treatment of essential hypertension and lowers the risk of cardiovascular diseases, reducing the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and death from cardiovascular diseases. It is especially suitable for high-risk chronic cardiovascular patients who cannot take ACE inhibitors. Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunct when hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia are not controlled by diet or exercise. It is also effective in patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, for suppressing the progression of atherosclerosis, and for reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. The combined administration of these two drugs is used to manage blood pressure and cholesterol simultaneously for improving cardiovascular health.
Telmisartan: For treatment of essential hypertension, an oral dose of 40 mg once daily is recommended, and in some patients, 20 mg once daily may also be effective. If needed, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 80 mg once daily. For reduction of cardiovascular disease risk, an oral dose of 80 mg once daily is recommended. Caution is required for patients with liver impairment (mild to moderate) not to exceed 40 mg once daily. Rosuvastatin Calcium
