This medication is used in conjunction with diet and exercise to improve blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes. It may be administered alone at the start of treatment, and if blood glucose control is insufficient, it can be combined with metformin. Additionally, it can be used in conjunction with sulfonylureas, thiazolidinediones, and insulin when monotherapy is ineffective to help better control blood glucose. This medication can also be added to metformin and other agents to strengthen blood glucose management. It is used in various combination therapies to improve blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes.

How to take

Precautions

This medication may cause severe allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. It should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis, and should be avoided if there is an allergy to this medication or its components.
