In cases of renal impairment, dosage adjustments are required if glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) is below 45 mL/min/1.73 m2. Precautions

This medication can cause severe allergic reactions, so if symptoms such as rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or neck appear after taking the medication, you must immediately stop taking it and consult a doctor. In addition, acute pancreatitis, a serious inflammation of the pancreas, may occur; therefore, if abdominal pain, vomiting, or persistent discomfort in the abdomen occurs, quickly inform medical personnel. This medication should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis, nor should it be taken by individuals with an allergy to the active ingredient. Patients with impaired renal function may have delayed excretion of this medication, so dosage adjustments should be made cautiously. During treatment, side effects such as cold symptoms, headaches, indigestion, and diarrhea may occur, and especially when taken with other blood sugar-lowering agents, hypoglycemia symptoms may occur more frequently. Hypoglycemia symptoms include dizziness, cold sweat, and severe fatigue, so caution is needed. This medication can also be used in the elderly, but regular kidney function tests should be conducted, and pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to take it. In case of overdose, general treatment should be conducted along with monitoring the heart condition, and if necessary, dialysis may be performed to remove the medication. Rare side effects such as joint pain or skin diseases may develop during long-term use, so inform a doctor if any unusual symptoms occur. Finally, there are minimal special interactions when used in combination with other medications, but it is important to consult medical personnel if taking specific medications.
