Precautions

This medication is used to treat erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia. Before use, it is essential to consult a physician to assess heart health status, particularly for patients with cardiovascular conditions who should consider the risks associated with sexual activity. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours while using this medication, seek medical assistance immediately. Prolonged erection can cause damage to the penile tissues, requiring caution. Taking this medication in conjunction with nitrate compounds or NO donors can lead to a sudden drop in blood pressure, so it should not be administered to patients on such medications. Patients who have recently experienced serious cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, angina, heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke should not use this medication. Additionally, patients with hereditary retinal disorders or specific eye diseases should also refrain from use. This medication should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney or liver function impairment, those having difficulty controlling blood pressure, and in cases of coadministration with specific antihypertensive agents. In particular, concomitant use with alpha-blockers may lead to exacerbation of blood pressure reduction; thus, medical advice should be followed. During treatment, side effects such as headache, dyspepsia, back pain, myalgia, flushing, limb pain, nasopharyngitis, upper respiratory tract infection, cough, diarrhea, gastroesophageal reflux disease, abdominal pain, dizziness, itching, chest pressure, vomiting, nausea, fatigue, drowsiness, insomnia, paresthesia, hemoglobin decrease, thrombocytopenia, anxiety, sleep disturbances, increased blood urea nitrogen, tachycardia, palpitations, eye pain, conjunctivitis, increased lacrimation, eyelid edema, epistaxis, and pharyngitis may occur, most of which are mild or transient. Rarely, serious cardiovascular adverse reactions or changes in vision and hearing have been reported; immediate consultation with healthcare providers is required if symptoms occur. This medication is not for use in women, children, or pregnant individuals; it does not significantly affect driving or machine operation, but it is advisable to verify individual reactions. In cases of overdose, standard treatment should be administered, as blood dialysis is not effective.
