Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication is used in conjunction with diet and exercise to help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It may be given alone to patients who need initial blood sugar control. If adequate effect is not achieved with monotherapy, it may be combined with Metformin. Additionally, if blood sugar control is difficult with monotherapies such as sulfonylureas, Metformin, thiazolidinediones, or insulin, this medication may be added. Even after combination therapy with multiple drugs, this medication may be added to improve effectiveness. Overall, this medication is used to improve blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes.
This medication is administered once daily at a dose of 100 mg for monotherapy or combination therapy, with a maximum daily dose of 100 mg. It can be taken regardless of meals. For patients with moderate renal impairment (eGFR 30-45 mL/min/1.73 m2), a dose of 50 mg is administered once daily. For patients with severe renal impairment or end-stage renal disease (eGFR 15-30 mL/min/1.73 m2 or less)
