Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction; prior to use, a doctor's diagnosis and physical examination must be performed. Sexual activity may impose strain on the heart, so patients with cardiovascular diseases should use it cautiously after consulting their doctor. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, seek medical help immediately, as untreated prolonged erections can result in penile tissue damage and permanent loss of erectile ability. This medication should not be taken with nitrate medications, as it may cause dangerously low blood pressure; therefore, patients on nitrates should avoid its use. This medication is not to be administered to patients with severe cardiovascular conditions such as myocardial infarction, stroke, or unstable angina. Additionally, patients with genetic retinal diseases or certain eye conditions should avoid its use. It is recommended not to combine this drug with other erectile dysfunction therapies. Lactose intolerant patients should exercise caution. Patients with severely impaired renal or liver function and those taking alpha-blockers should use this medication with caution under a physician's guidance. Serious adverse reactions such as severe headache, dyspepsia, myalgia, flushing, dizziness, and allergic reactions may occur; rare cases of vision loss or hearing loss have been reported. If sudden vision loss or hearing loss occurs after taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor. Caution is advised when taking this medication with alcohol, as it can cause blood pressure lowering or dizziness. In case of overdose, standard emergency treatment should be followed, as blood dialysis may not effectively remove the drug. This medication is not to be used by children, women, or pregnant persons, and should be stored out of reach of children.
