Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia. Before taking this medication, healthcare providers must assess the patient's heart health, and special caution should be taken with patients at cardiovascular risk. Due to potential cardiac strain during sexual activity, if any heart-related symptoms occur during intercourse, it should be stopped immediately and the physician should be consulted. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, immediate medical assistance should be sought, as neglecting this can result in penile tissue damage and permanent erectile dysfunction. This medication should not be taken with nitrate preparations or nitric oxide donors as they can dangerously lower blood pressure. Patients with severe heart disease or who have recently experienced a stroke, as well as those with certain high blood pressure conditions, should not use this drug. It is also contraindicated in cases of genetic retinal disorders or certain allergies. Combining this drug with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended as safety has not been confirmed. Patients with severe kidney or liver dysfunction should use this drug with caution, and caution is required when used with other medications that lower blood pressure. This drug may cause side effects such as headaches, indigestion, back pain, muscle pain, flushing, and others, most of which are mild and temporary. Rarely, serious cardiovascular side effects or vision and hearing problems may occur, so any unusual symptoms should be reported to a healthcare provider immediately. It is not to be used during pregnancy, in children, or in women. Care must be taken as taking it with alcohol may exacerbate blood pressure lowering and dizziness. In case of overdose, standard treatment should be administered, and blood dialysis has little effect on the drug's elimination. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and should be stored in its original packaging.
