Prevention and treatment of vitamin D deficiency
Used to prevent and treat vitamin D deficiency in elderly, adolescents, and adults with vitamin D deficiency. It helps maintain bone health and prevents osteoporosis.
For adults, administer 200,000 IU of cholecalciferol via intramuscular injection. Ensure that the annual dosage does not exceed 600,000 IU of cholecalciferol.
For adolescents, administer 200,000 IU of cholecalciferol via intramuscular injection.
This medication contains vitamin D, and overdosing should be avoided. When taken alongside vitamin D fortified foods or other medications, the total vitamin D intake must be carefully monitored. Regularly check blood and urine calcium levels to ensure they do not exceed the normal range, and discontinue use if calcium levels are too high. This medication should not be used by patients with certain health conditions, such as hypercalcemia or kidney disorders, or by pregnant or nursing women. Various side effects such as headaches, fatigue, muscle pain, and digestive issues may occur, so if any abnormal symptoms arise, consult a healthcare professional immediately. Regularly monitor blood vitamin D levels and parathyroid hormone levels, especially in the elderly or when taking certain medications, to closely observe kidney function. It may interact with other medications, so if you are taking any other drugs, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist. This medication should not be taken during pregnancy, and caution is required in children as safety has not been fully established. In the event of an overdose, discontinue use immediately, increase fluid intake, and seek medical assistance if necessary. Do not mix this medication with other drugs, use quickly after opening, and dispose of any remaining medication. When storing, it is important to keep it away from direct sunlight and store it at room temperature.

This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a container that does not allow light to enter. It is also important to maintain a temperature between 1°C and 30°C while storing the medication. This helps to preserve the medication's effectiveness and prevents deterioration.
