How to take

For essential hypertension, the recommended dose is 40 mg of telmisartan taken orally once daily with water, and it can be taken regardless of meals. Depending on the patient, 20 mg once daily may be effective, and if necessary, the dose can be increased up to 80 mg once daily. Precautions

This drug may cause serious harm, especially to the fetus and newborn, during pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients with a known allergy to this drug, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, those with severely impaired liver function, or those with a history of hereditary angioedema should not take this medication. Patients with mild liver impairment, elderly patients, those with hyperkalemia, and those with heart or kidney diseases should use this drug cautiously and should have their conditions monitored regularly by a physician. During treatment, blood pressure, kidney function, and blood potassium levels should be monitored regularly for any abnormalities. When combined with other antihypertensive medications, there may be an increased risk of hypotension, worsening kidney function, and hyperkalemia, so consultation with a physician is necessary. If blood pressure drops too low or symptoms of dizziness or fainting occur, immediate medical attention must be sought for appropriate treatment. This drug contains sorbitol and is unsuitable for patients with fructose intolerance. Caution is needed when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fainting may occur. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, abnormal heart rate, and worsening kidney function may arise, necessitating an immediate visit to a medical facility. It is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years due to insufficient evidence of safety and efficacy. Store out of reach of children and do not transfer to other containers during treatment.
