Also, since there have been no clinical trials in pediatric and adolescent populations, it should not be administered to this age group. While taking this medication, rare gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and diarrhea may occur. Allergic reactions such as skin rashes, hives, or itching may also occur. Rarely, hypoglycemic symptoms such as dizziness, sweating, headaches, and vision disturbances may appear due to low blood sugar. Additionally, taste disturbances have been reported. Individuals who consume alcohol frequently may be at risk of exacerbating neuropathic symptoms, as it can reduce the effectiveness of this medication, so it is advisable to avoid alcohol consumption. This medication may reduce the effectiveness of the certain anticancer agent cisplatin, so it is best not to use it concurrently. Taking this medication with drugs containing iron, magnesium, calcium, or milk may hinder the absorption of the medication in the body, so the timing of doses should be adjusted. When taken with insulin or other diabetes medications, the blood sugar-lowering effect may increase, necessitating frequent blood sugar checks and potential dose adjustments as needed. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use this medication only after careful consideration of its benefits and risks, following a doctor's guidance. In case of suspected overdose, serious toxicity symptoms may arise, and immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication should not be stored at temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius and must be kept out of reach of children.
