This medication helps alleviate gastrointestinal dysfunction caused by gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, gastritis, and peptic ulcers, such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting. It also relieves discomfort due to irritable bowel syndrome and spasmodic colitis, and is used to treat habitual vomiting and non-infectious gastrointestinal transit disorders such as constipation and diarrhea in children. Overall, it effectively improves various issues related to the stomach and intestines.

How to take

Adult dose

As Trimebutine Maleate, take 100-200 mg orally three times a day before meals. Adjust as appropriate according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication contains lactose, so it should not be used by patients who are genetically intolerant to lactose. Rarely, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal sounds, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, dry mouth, or a feeling of numbness in the mouth may occur while taking this medication. Additionally, palpitations may occur rarely. Neurological symptoms such as fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches may also appear infrequently. There may be a temporary increase in liver function test values, so caution is advised. Allergic reactions, such as rash, may occur rarely, and if such symptoms appear, the medication should be discontinued. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety is not assured. Women who are breastfeeding should preferably not take this medication, and if necessary, it is safe to discontinue breastfeeding.
