This medication is primarily used for the treatment of male pattern hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia, which occurs in adult males aged 18 to 41. Male pattern hair loss is a hair loss phenomenon caused by genetic and hormonal factors, and this drug helps slow the progression of hair loss and promote hair growth. With consistent use, one can expect gradual thickening of hair and an increase in hair density. This treatment also helps alleviate psychological stress caused by hair loss. Patients are advised to regularly take the medication and maintain consistent management. Therefore, this drug is used for the treatment of male pattern hair loss.

How to take

Adult dose

Generally, finasteride is administered orally at a dose of 1 mg once daily, which can be taken regardless of meals. There is no evidence that increasing the dosage increases efficacy. Typically, treatment effects can be seen after taking the medication for more than 3 months, and continued intake is recommended to maintain efficacy. The duration of treatment and efficacy should be continuously evaluated. If treatment is discontinued, the therapeutic effects will diminish within 12 months.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in children or women. In particular, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should be careful not to handle broken pieces of this drug.
