Precautions

This drug should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as by nursing mothers. This medication can be harmful to patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction, or perforation, as it stimulates gastrointestinal motility. It should also not be used in certain patients who may experience hypertension due to tumors. Patients who have an allergy or intolerance to this medication are prohibited from using it. Patients with specific neurological disorders such as epilepsy or bipolar disorder should be cautious, as this medication may exacerbate symptoms. Patients with breast-related conditions should avoid this medication due to its potential to cause hormonal changes. This medication contains lactose, and patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic diseases should not use it. Careful administration is required for patients with hypertension, children, and elderly patients, with special caution for children to avoid overdose. When using this medication, symptoms such as amenorrhea, excessive milk secretion, and gynecomastia may appear due to hormonal changes, requiring symptom monitoring. In rare cases, neurological symptoms such as shaking, tongue twisting, and anxiety may occur, and if these symptoms appear, the medication should be immediately discontinued. Long-term use may lead to involuntary movements around the mouth, necessitating caution. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include dry mouth, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation. Cardiac-related side effects may include hypertension or arrhythmias, so cardiac status should be carefully monitored. When used as an antipsychotic treatment, there is a rare risk of severe neuroleptic malignant syndrome, which presents with high fever, muscle rigidity, and altered consciousness; if symptoms occur, the medication should be immediately discontinued and treatment sought. If skin rashes or swelling occur, medication use should also be stopped, as symptoms such as flushing, fatigue, insomnia, drowsiness, dizziness, unsteadiness, and erectile dysfunction may rarely appear. This medication can affect the endocrine system, leading to changes in libido or amenorrhea, which are generally reversible. It is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery that requires attention while taking this medication. Caution should be exercised when used with medications that may increase the risk of cardiac arrhythmias, as the risk of cardiac abnormalities may increase. Unexpected side effects may occur when combined with other drugs, so it should not be taken with alcohol and caution should be exercised with certain medications. It should not be used in pregnant or nursing women due to the established safety not being confirmed for the fetus or newborn. In elderly patients, due to reduced kidney function, drug concentrations may increase, so dosage and intervals must be adjusted with attention to adverse reactions. This drug has an anti-emetic effect and may mask vomiting symptoms from other causes, necessitating careful use.
