This medication is used in the treatment of chronic persistent hepatitis with continuously elevated SGPT levels.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, one capsule for adults, orally taken three times a day after meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients with complete biliary obstruction. Additionally, since this medication contains lactose, it should not be taken by patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with chronic active hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, hypokalemia, severe pancreatic disorders, peptic ulcers, or gallbladder disease should exercise special caution when using this medication. Digestive symptoms such as occasional diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occur during use, and rarely, abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, and discomfort in the upper abdomen can also be experienced. Allergic reactions such as itching or rash may occur, and a skin rash may rarely develop, but symptoms usually resolve with the use of antihistamines. Transient jaundice may occur, in which case stopping the medication or using jaundice treatment can improve symptoms. Rarely, generalized fatigue or dizziness may also be experienced, so caution is needed. It is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage and administration, and if symptoms do not improve after 8 weeks of use or abnormal symptoms appear, immediately stop taking the medication and consult a doctor or pharmacist. It is important to store this medication in a safe place out of reach of children. Animal studies have reported potential harm to the fetus; therefore, it is advisable not to take this medication if pregnant or possibly pregnant. Lastly, this medication may enhance the effect of oral diabetes medications, so caution is required when used together.
