This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or losartan. It is also effective for initial treatment in stage 2 hypertension patients who require combination therapy to reach target blood pressure. By managing blood pressure stably, it helps prevent complications related to hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medication is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time each day (e.g., morning). Generally, Amlozal 5/50 mg is administered once daily, and if blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled after two weeks, it can be increased to 10/50 mg once daily.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, therefore the use of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This drug can cause severe harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately once pregnancy is confirmed. Due to its blood pressure-lowering effects, dizziness may occur; caution is needed when engaging in hazardous activities such as working at heights or driving. This medication should not be used in patients with severely impaired liver function, severe aortic stenosis, or in patients in shock. In the case of overdose, severe hypotension and heart abnormalities may occur, so it is vital to adhere to the prescribed dosages and consult a healthcare professional immediately if any abnormal symptoms arise. This drug must be stored out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may cause a decrease in quality or increase the risk of accidents.

Urticaria, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blistering, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory distress with cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden severe headache, lightning headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, significantly reduced urine output.
