This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension for whom blood pressure control is difficult with monotherapy of amlodipine or losartan. It is also utilized as an initial therapy in combination therapy to reach the target blood pressure in patients with Stage 2 hypertension. This effectively helps in managing blood pressure and preventing cardiovascular diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning) if possible. Typically, 5/50 mg of this drug is administered once daily, and if blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled after 2 weeks of administration, the dosage can be increased to 10/50 mg once daily.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years, hence use of this drug is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause severe harm to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be stopped immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It can also be dangerous in early pregnancy, hence women who may become pregnant should consult a doctor before use. Hypotension may occur when administered to patients with reduced blood volume, therefore treatment should be received first if in this condition.
