Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Individuals with an allergy or history of hypersensitivity to this medication or its ingredients should not use it. Patients with calcium metabolism disorders should also avoid this medication. It is not suitable for patients with drop-shaped psoriasis, erythrodermic psoriasis, exfoliative psoriasis, or pustular psoriasis. Patients with severe renal impairment or liver disease should not use this medication. Safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 18, so it is best not to use it in this age group. The medication should not be applied to the face, around the eyes, or on the skin of the genitals. Patients with tympanic membrane damage and otitis externa should avoid using this medication as it contains corticosteroids, which are contraindicated for certain infections, wounds, ulcers, and certain dermatitis. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should use this medication with caution, and elderly patients or those with liver dysfunction or diabetes should also take care. Side effects such as skin itching or peeling may occur frequently during use, and rarely, skin infections, hypersensitivity, hypercalcemia, and skin atrophy may arise. Use of this medication over a long duration or on large areas may lead to systemic side effects, so caution is advised. It is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dose and application method, avoiding contact with sensitive areas such as the face, around the eyes, and genital areas, and wash hands thoroughly after use. If symptoms improve, discontinue use as soon as possible. If symptoms worsen or abnormal reactions occur, stop using the medication immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist. This medication should be kept away from excessive exposure to natural light or artificial light, and due to the presence of calcipotriene, it should be used with caution in conjunction with UV light as directed by a doctor. It is advisable not to use this medication alongside other corticosteroids, and concurrent use with salicylic acid may decrease efficacy, so they should not be used together. Pregnant or nursing women should use this medication cautiously considering its effects on the fetus or newborn, and should not apply it to the breast area while nursing. Excessive use may lead to elevated calcium levels in the blood and side effects such as adrenal suppression, so it is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, and if the medication gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water and seek ophthalmologic attention if necessary. After use, store in a place out of reach of children, and it should be utilized within the specified time after opening, without refrigeration.
