Plaque psoriasis is a chronic skin condition that manifests as red, scaly rashes on the skin. Topical treatments for this condition primarily use steroid ointments or vitamin D derivatives. These medications help reduce inflammation and regulate the excessive growth and shedding of skin cells. Patients can expect an improvement in symptoms with consistent treatment as prescribed. Topical treatments are used to alleviate the skin symptoms of plaque psoriasis and to treat lesions.
Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area once daily. The recommended treatment period is 4 weeks, after which treatment can be repeated under medical supervision. The maximum daily dosage is 15 g, and it should not exceed 100 g per week. The total body surface area treated should not exceed 30%.
