Treatment of plaque psoriasis (localized, scalp)
This medication is used for the localized treatment of plaque psoriasis. The ointment application method allows for effective management of plaque psoriasis directly on the skin. The gel formulation is also used for moderate to severe scalp psoriasis as well as plaque psoriasis outside the scalp to help alleviate symptoms. Thus, this medication is specialized for the treatment of psoriasis and is effective in improving skin condition.
Ointment: Apply an appropriate amount once daily to the affected area. The recommended treatment period is 4 weeks, and the maximum amount for administration is 15 g per day and 100 g per week. The application area should not exceed 30% of the total body surface area. Gel: Apply once daily to the affected area. Use is recommended for 4 weeks on the scalp and 8 weeks on areas outside the scalp. Daily use should not exceed 15 g, and the maximum weekly use should not exceed 100 g.
This medication should not be used in certain patients. Individuals who have experienced an allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to this medication or its ingredients should avoid use. Additionally, patients with calcium metabolism disorders, certain types of psoriasis, severe kidney or liver disease, those under 18 years of age, and those with skin around the face or eyes should not use it. Patients with perforated tympanic membranes or infections such as otitis externa should also be cautious, as use may delay healing. This medication is contraindicated in cases of skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or parasites; wounds or mucosal areas; ulcers; severe burns or frostbite; perioral dermatitis; acne; specific skin conditions; and in patients with itching around the anus or genitals. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, elderly individuals, and those with liver dysfunction or diabetes should use this medication with caution. In particular, the corticosteroid component may affect blood sugar levels, so careful monitoring is necessary. When using this medication, skin reactions such as itching, dermatitis, rash, skin irritation, dryness, and skin peeling may occur. Rarely, skin infections, hypersensitivity, hypercalcemia, ocular irritation, and pain at the application site can occur, and should any of these symptoms manifest, use should be immediately discontinued and a healthcare professional should be consulted. Prolonged or excessive use may lead to systemic absorption of corticosteroids, resulting in serious side effects such as adrenal suppression, elevated blood sugar, increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, cataracts, and other severe side effects. It is essential to adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and avoid contact with the skin on the face, around the eyes, mouth, genitals, and mucosal regions. After use, hands must be washed thoroughly, and it is advisable to discontinue as soon as symptoms improve. Additionally, one should avoid excessive exposure to natural or artificial light while using this medication, and if secondary infections occur during treatment, antibiotic therapy may be necessary. It is advisable to avoid concurrent use with other corticosteroid preparations, and using salicylic acid may reduce the effectiveness, so they should not be used together. Women who are pregnant or nursing should consult a physician before using this medication, and it is safer to avoid use during the early stages of pregnancy. Caution is warranted when using this medication in children or adolescents, as safety and efficacy have not been adequately studied in this population. Excessive use may cause side effects such as hypercalcemia, adrenal suppression, and Cushing's syndrome; therefore, it is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage. Do not use for ophthalmic purposes, and if it contacts the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water and seek ophthalmological care if symptoms are severe.
Hypersensitivity reactions (including angioedema, facial swelling), hypercalcemia, skin infections (including bacterial, fungal, and viral infections), secondary infections, pustular psoriasis, increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, cataracts, adrenal cortex dysfunction, effects on diabetes metabolism, visual impairment, visual disturbances, suppression of the pituitary-adrenal function due to high or prolonged use, Cushing's syndrome, severe edema accompanied by increased blood pressure, coma, confusion, seizures, altered consciousness.
Itching, dermatitis, erythema, rash, skin burning, skin irritation, skin dryness, pain at the application site (burning sensation, etc.), rebound reactions, ocular irritation, skin foliation, folliculitis, worsening of wounds, heat rash, pustulosis, skin peeling, skin atrophy, purpura, petechiae, steroid acne, steroid-induced skin changes (skin atrophy, telangiectasia, ecchymosis), steroid-induced rosacea, perioral dermatitis, tinea corporis skin changes.

Store this medication in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture. The appropriate storage temperature is a cool place between 1 and 25 degrees Celsius.
