Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if administered to pregnant women during the second and third trimesters. Therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Do not administer this medication to patients who are allergic to its active ingredients or similar classes, pregnant or breastfeeding women, severe liver impairment patients, severe aortic stenosis patients, biliary obstruction patients, dialysis patients, shock state patients, and certain diabetic patients. For hypotensive patients who are deficient in fluid or salt, hypotensive symptoms may appear, so careful monitoring of their condition is necessary. Rapid vascular dilation may cause hypotension, hence caution is particularly needed for aortic stenosis patients. Patients with severe obstructive coronary artery disease or congestive heart failure should use this medication cautiously as it might affect heart function. In patients with impaired kidney function, renal function may worsen, hence, blood tests and condition should be observed carefully. In patients with liver dysfunction, metabolism of this drug may slow down, requiring caution. During the course of taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, headache, hypotension, edema, and dyspepsia may occur, and in severe cases, consult a physician immediately. This medication should not be taken during pregnancy, and if breastfeeding, it is recommended to discontinue either breastfeeding or the medication since it can be transmitted through milk. It is not advisable to administer this medication to children under 18 years of age as safety and efficacy have not been established. In the elderly, decreased kidney and liver function may lead to increased drug concentration, so starting with a low dose and closely monitoring the condition is essential. In the case of overdose, severe hypotension, vascular dilation, and tachycardia may occur, requiring immediate medical treatment, with continuous monitoring of blood pressure and heart function. This medication should be stored away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight, out of reach of children. When combining with other medications, consult a physician or pharmacist regarding the potential for interactions, particularly with potassium-sparing diuretics or medications that may pose a risk of hyperkalemia.
