This medication helps improve liver function and reduce hepatocyte damage in cases where SGPT levels are continuously elevated due to chronic persistent hepatitis. It contributes to alleviating liver inflammation and normalizing liver function, thereby improving overall liver health. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of chronic persistent hepatitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, 1 capsule per adult, 3 times a day orally after meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with complete biliary obstruction. Since this drug contains lactose, it should not be used in patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. This medication should be used cautiously in patients with chronic active hepatitis, cirrhosis, hypokalemia, severe pancreatic disease, peptic ulcers, or gallstones. When taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may sometimes occur, and rarely abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, or discomfort in the upper abdomen may also be experienced. Hypersensitivity reactions such as itching or rash may occur, and a rash may rarely develop, but typically resolves with the use of antihistamines. Transient jaundice may appear, and in such a case, stopping the medication or using jaundice treatment agents can alleviate symptoms. Rarely, symptoms such as fatigue or dizziness may also occur. In a study involving 640 chronic persistent hepatitis patients over 6 years, adverse reactions were reported at a rate of approximately 0.31%, and serious side effects such as cirrhosis, ascites, and acute hepatitis C were also observed. The prescribed dosage and administration must be strictly followed, and if symptoms do not improve after 8 weeks or any abnormal symptoms arise, the treatment should be stopped, and consultation with a physician or pharmacist is necessary. Keep out of reach of children. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant are advised not to take this medication. Animal studies have reported risks of harm to the fetus.
