Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or its components, those with orthostatic hypotension where blood pressure drops suddenly, patients with severe liver dysfunction, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication. Also, patients with severely impaired kidney function, the elderly, and those taking certain antihypertensive medications or other drugs should use this medication cautiously. In particular, patients taking alpha-1 blockers should not use this medication as a rule, but if absolutely necessary, should only take it with caution. This medication can cause side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, blood pressure drops, heart palpitations, skin rashes, and dyspepsia. Occasionally, there may be loss of consciousness or fainting, so symptoms should be closely monitored, and if abnormal symptoms appear, the medication should be stopped immediately and medical attention sought. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop excessively, so the prescribed dosage should be adhered to, and since blood pressure may decrease when standing up, it is advisable to move slowly. This medication alleviates symptoms rather than treating the underlying cause, so if it is ineffective, other treatment methods should be considered. While taking this medication, caution should be exercised when driving or operating hazardous machinery, especially those with a history of allergies. Additionally, this medication has a rare side effect of persistent erections; if this occurs, one should consult a doctor immediately. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive medications or specific drugs, so patients taking other medications should inform their doctor or pharmacist. Special caution is needed when taken with certain antifungals, antibiotics, and antihypertensive agents. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take this medication, and its safety and efficacy have not been established in children under 18 years old. The elderly may have reduced kidney function, so treatment should start at a lower dose and be gradually increased; if no effect is seen, treatment should not be escalated further, and alternative therapies should be pursued. This medication should be taken directly from the package and should not be chewed or opened. Since it is a sustained release formulation, the method of taking it should ensure slow drug release. Finally, this medication should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to another container. This is necessary to ensure safe use of the drug.
