Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medication is used to relieve moderate to severe acute and chronic pain.
Adjust the dosage according to the patient's level of pain and therapeutic response. The initial dose is one tablet, and subsequent dosing intervals should be at least 12 hours apart. Do not exceed four tablets per day. Avoid prolonged use beyond necessity, and if prolonged use is necessary, conduct regular monitoring. During administration, monitor for nausea, vomiting, itching, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, etc., to observe the patient's response closely.
This medication should be consulted with a doctor or pharmacist before use for individuals who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol daily, as there is an increased risk of liver damage when taken with alcohol. Serious skin reactions such as rashes, itching, or hives may occur during the course of this medication; if such symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. There is a risk of seizures when taking this medication, so individuals with a history of seizures or risk factors for seizures should use it with caution. Particularly, the risk of seizures may increase if taken in combination with certain antidepressants or narcotic analgesics. This medication can rarely cause serious allergic reactions; if symptoms such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the face or neck occur, immediate emergency treatment is required. It is dangerous to administer this medication to patients with acute and severe bronchial asthma; monitoring is required in a place with resuscitation equipment when using this medication. Use with caution in combination with central nervous system depressants such as alcohol or benzodiazepines, as it may cause severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma. Patients with brain damage or increased intracranial pressure should use this medication carefully, as respiratory depression may further increase intracranial pressure. This medication may cause psychological and physical dependence; therefore, careful monitoring for potential dependence and abuse is required when used for extended periods. Patients with impaired liver function or liver disease should consult with a doctor before taking this medication due to the risk of liver damage, and should ensure the total daily intake of acetaminophen does not exceed 4,000 mg. Patients with specific genetic metabolic conditions may accumulate excessive amounts of active metabolites, increasing the risk of respiratory depression, so dosage adjustment and monitoring are necessary. Do not use this medication in children under 12 years old or in adolescents under 18 years old who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy. Adolescents aged 12 to 18 should also avoid use if there are specific risk factors. Elderly patients should be carefully administered this medication due to the potential for decreased liver, kidney, and heart function alongside multiple medication use. During pregnancy, use this medication only if the benefits outweigh the risks, as safety for the fetus has not been established. In late pregnancy, the risk of neonate withdrawal syndrome may increase. It is advisable for nursing mothers to avoid taking this medication, as it may transfer to breast milk and pose serious side effects such as respiratory depression in babies. This medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness when operating a vehicle or machinery, so caution is advised. In case of overdose, respiratory depression, decreased consciousness, and liver damage may occur, so immediate medical attention is needed. Do not take this medication concurrently with other tramadol or acetaminophen formulations, and ensure that dosages are within the recommended limits.
