Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medication is used to relieve acute and chronic pain ranging from moderate to severe.
For initial dosage, it is recommended to administer 1 tablet, thereafter the dosing interval should be at least 12 hours, and not to exceed 4 tablets in one day. Avoid prolonging the administration of this medication more than necessary; in cases where long-term administration is needed, regular monitoring should be conducted to confirm the continuation. Elderly patients should normally receive the adult dosage, but for those aged 75 or older, the interval between doses should be at least 12 hours.
This medication can cause liver damage if taken by individuals who regularly consume large amounts of alcohol, so it must be used only under the guidance of a doctor or pharmacist. Acetaminophen, one of the ingredients in this medication, can rarely cause serious and potentially fatal skin reactions, so if a rash or allergic reaction appears after taking this medication, it must be discontinued immediately. The main ingredient, tramadol, increases the risk of seizures if taken in excess of the recommended dosage, and the risk may be higher if taken in combination with certain antidepressants and narcotics. Tramadol can also cause life-threatening allergic reactions, so if any unusual symptoms occur, consult medical personnel immediately. When administered to patients with acute and severe asthma, this medication can severely suppress breathing, and so it must be administered cautiously in a medically equipped environment. This medication, when taken with alcohol or benzodiazepines, can cause severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, and coma, thus caution is necessary when taking together. Patients with head injuries or increased intracranial pressure should be cautious as respiratory depression from this medication may worsen their symptoms. This medication can lead to psychological and physical dependence, so risks of dependence must be considered during long-term use. Patients with impaired liver function may suffer liver damage due to acetaminophen, so they should consult a doctor before taking it. Individuals who metabolize certain enzymes very rapidly due to genetic factors may have an increased risk of respiratory depression due to excessive metabolism of the active ingredients, requiring special caution. This medication should not be given to children under 12 years of age or adolescents under 18 years who have had tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy, and adolescents between 12 and 18 years should avoid it if special risk factors exist. Elderly patients or those at risk of hyponatremia should be closely monitored for symptoms of hyponatremia during the use of this medication. Patients with hypersensitivity to any components of this medication, severe respiratory depression, brain damage, or those taking certain medications should not take this medication. Patients on central nervous system depressants or with severely impaired liver, kidney, or heart function should use this medication cautiously and adjust the dosage according to medical advice. Discontinuing this medication abruptly can lead to withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, nausea, tremors, etc., so it should be tapered off gradually under a doctor's guidance. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor regarding the effects of this medication on the fetus, while breastfeeding mothers should refrain from nursing while taking this medication. This medication can cause drowsiness and dizziness, thus caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, serious respiratory depression and liver damage may occur, so it is important to adhere to the prescribed dosage and seek immediate medical attention in case of an overdose. Avoid taking this medication concurrently with other painkillers or medications containing acetaminophen, and do not increase the dosage without consulting a doctor. This medication may interact with several other drugs, so inform medical personnel of any other medications being taken.
