Chronic persistent hepatitis with continuously elevated SGPT levels is a condition that poses a risk of liver dysfunction due to persistent inflammation in the liver. This medication is used to reduce hepatocyte damage, alleviate inflammation, and support the recovery of liver function. It is effective in improving liver health and inhibiting the progression of chronic hepatitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, 1 capsule for adults, taken orally 3 times a day after meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with complete bile duct obstruction. Additionally, as this product contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with hereditary conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Caution is required when using this medication in patients with chronic active hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, hypokalemia, severe pancreatic diseases, peptic ulcers, or cholelithiasis. Patients taking this medication may sometimes experience gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, and rarely abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, or upper abdominal discomfort. Occasional hypersensitivity reactions such as itching or rash may occur, and in rare cases, skin rashes may develop, usually resolving with the concurrent use of antihistamines. Transient jaundice may occur, which can be resolved by discontinuing the medication or using jaundice treatment agents. Rarely, symptoms such as general malaise or dizziness may be experienced. Clinical studies involving 640 patients with chronic persistent hepatitis over six years showed that adverse drug reactions were very rare, with serious reactions such as liver cirrhosis, ascites, and acute hepatitis C reported. This medication must be taken strictly according to the prescribed dosage and duration, and if symptoms do not improve or unusual symptoms appear after taking it for up to 8 weeks, it should be discontinued immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist. It is important to keep this medicine out of reach of children. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant are advised not to take this medication due to reported harmful effects on the fetus in animal studies. Additionally, when taken with oral diabetes medications, the effects of the diabetes drugs may be intensified, so caution is advised.
