Acute non-infectious conjunctivitis (edema, vascular congestion) and allergic keratitis, non-infectious inflammation of the anterior segment (anterior uveitis, etc.), reduction of postoperative inflammation.
This medication is used to treat acute non-infectious conjunctivitis and allergic keratitis accompanied by severe edema and vascular congestion, as well as non-infectious inflammation of the anterior segment such as anterior uveitis, scleritis, and episcleritis. It also helps alleviate inflammation following strabismus surgery, cataract surgery, and glaucoma surgery. It effectively acts on various ocular inflammatory conditions to relieve symptoms and promote recovery.
Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 2–3 times a day. Initially, for the first 24-48 hours, instill 1 drop every hour.
This medication should not be used by individuals with known allergies to specific ingredients. It is also advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to use this medication. This medication should not be used in cases of eye infections, particularly in the presence of keratitis or conjunctivitis. Patients with glaucoma or dry eyes, especially those with Sjögren's syndrome, should avoid this medication. People with corneal damage or ulcers, or those with viral, bacterial, or fungal infections should avoid using this medication. It is recommended not to use this medication in children under 2 years of age. Patients with circulatory issues or those with heart disease or hypertension should use this medication with caution. Patients with hyperthyroidism or diabetes should also exercise caution. Patients taking specific medications, such as MAO inhibitors or those that can elevate blood pressure, should be careful when using this medication. Individuals with a history of cataracts or herpes simplex infection should also use this medication cautiously. Special care is necessary for individuals with severe rhinitis and for pediatric patients. This medication may cause temporary eye irritation, but it does not significantly impact treatment. Long-term use may increase intraocular pressure, so regular examinations are necessary. Prolonged use may lead to eye congestion or skin allergic reactions. This medication contains corticosteroid components, which may lead to cataracts or corneal damage with long-term use. There is a risk of fungal infections in the ocular tissue, particularly for patients with fungal or viral infections. Healing of wounds may be delayed, and pupils may dilate or, rarely, symptoms of skin psoriasis or exophthalmos may occur. There is a risk of posterior subcapsular cataract, thinning of the cornea, and in severe cases, the risk of perforation occurs. In children, systemic side effects such as headaches or insomnia may appear, so caution is required. During treatment, it is advisable to avoid wearing soft contact lenses and not to use this medication for extended periods. If used for more than 2-3 days, intraocular pressure, systemic side effects, and the presence of infections should be regularly monitored. If corneal ulcers persist, the possibility of fungal infection should be suspected. This medication may mask or exacerbate symptoms of eye infections, so caution is needed. Temporary blurred vision may occur after instillation, so driving or operating dangerous machinery should be avoided. Children and patients taking specific medications are at higher risk of systemic adverse reactions; therefore, close monitoring is necessary. This medication should not be combined with other drugs that can elevate blood pressure, and using it with certain medications may increase the risk of side effects. For children or pediatric patients, because safety has not been established, caution is required as there may be chances of systemic side effects. Overdose may result in pupil dilation, skin cyanosis, high fever, heart problems, or central nervous system depression symptoms. Before use, shake the medication well and instill it carefully to avoid contact with the eye. Avoid contamination to maintain sterility, and store the medication out of reach of children, in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. It is important not to transfer the medication to another container to maintain its quality.
