This is used to reduce discomfort during examinations or treatments and improve gastrointestinal symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

1. For bubble elimination during gastric endoscopy: Administer 40-80mg of simethicone orally with approximately 10mL of water 15-40 minutes before examination. 2. For gas elimination during abdominal X-ray examinations: Starting 3-4 days before examination, administer 40-80mg 3 times a day after meals or between meals. 3. For improvement of abdominal symptoms due to gas in the gastrointestinal tract: Administer 40-80mg 3 times a day after meals or at bedtime. Adjust accordingly based on age.

Precautions

This medication contains aspartame, an artificial sweetener, which breaks down into phenylalanine in the body. Therefore, patients with phenylketonuria, a hereditary condition, should not take this medication. Additionally, this medication contains sodium pyrosulfite, which may cause allergic reactions. Especially, patients with asthma may be sensitive to this component and should use it with caution. During usage, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and loss of appetite may occur, and rarely headaches may develop. This medication contains sodium benzoate, which may cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes, so caution should be exercised. It is advisable to thoroughly shake the medication before use. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight, and kept in a cool, dry place.
