Adult dose

Use in adult men The recommended dose of this medicine is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. For patients in whom tadalafil 10mg does not produce an adequate effect, 20 mg may be tried. This medicine may be taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once daily. Because long-term safety after prolonged daily dosing has not been established, and the effects of this medicine usually last for more than one day, continuous daily administration of this medicine is strongly discouraged. [See section 1. Warnings and section 11.1) Pharmacodynamic properties] Use in elderly men Dosage adjustments are not required in elderly patients. Use in men with renal impairment No dosage adjustment is required in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. The maximum recommended dose in patients with severe renal impairment is 10mg. [See section 11.2) Pharmacokinetic properties]. Use in men with hepatic impairment The recommended dose of this medicine is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. Since clinical data on the safety of this medicine in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class C) are limited, if prescribing it, the physician should carefully evaluate the individual benefit/risk. No data are available on administering doses higher than 10mg to patients with hepatic impairment. [See section 3. Child dose

Do not use in persons under 18 years of age.

This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Before using this medication, the physician must accurately identify the cause of erectile dysfunction through the patient's history and physical examination. Sexual activity can put a strain on the heart, so it is essential to ensure that cardiovascular health is in good condition. If cardiac-related symptoms occur during sexual activity, immediately discontinue and inform your doctor. This medication may rarely cause an erection that lasts more than 4 hours (priapism), which can lead to penile tissue damage and loss of erectile function if not treated promptly, thus requiring immediate medical attention. During the treatment with this medication or after, taking certain blood pressure-lowering medications, such as nitrates, can be dangerous; therefore, it is imperative to consult with a physician. Patients with cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, stroke, or unstable angina may be at risk when using this medication, so physician assessment is necessary. This medication can affect sperm production, so this should be considered when used for an extended period. Patients with specific heart valve diseases may be sensitive to the medication, requiring caution. Patients who regularly use organic nitrates or those with severe heart disease should not use this medication. Patients with genetic retinal disorders or specific lactose intolerance should also avoid this medication. Combining with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended due to unverified safety and efficacy. Patients with penile deformities or specific blood disorders should use this medication cautiously. Patients with significantly impaired kidney or liver function should pay attention to dosage adjustments and use. There may be hypotensive effects when combined with alpha-blockers; hence, such combinations are not recommended. When taken with specific antifungals or antivirals, dosage adjustment is necessary, and physician guidance should be followed. This medication may cause side effects such as headache, dyspepsia, back pain, myalgia, flushing, limb pain, rhinitis, upper respiratory infections, cough, diarrhea, urinary tract infections, gastroesophageal reflux disease, abdominal pain, dizziness, drowsiness, lightheadedness, itching, rash, sweating, facial flushing, facial swelling, increased blood pressure, decreased hemoglobin, anxiety, sleep disturbances, thrombocytopenia, chest burning, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, increased blood urea nitrogen, increased alkaline phosphatase, and neck stiffness. Rarely, cardiac-related adverse reactions or abnormal vision and hearing have been reported, so if these symptoms occur, immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication is not to be used in women, children, or infants, and its safety in pregnancy has not been established. It does not significantly affect driving or operating machinery, but caution is advised due to the possibility of dizziness. In the case of overdose, standard emergency treatment should be provided and appropriate measures taken in the hospital if necessary. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and preferably kept in its original packaging.
