This medication helps alleviate symptoms such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting caused by gastrointestinal dysfunctions like gastroesophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, gastritis, and ulcers. It also supports bowel health by improving symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. In children, it can be effectively used for habitual vomiting and non-infectious intestinal passage disturbances, such as constipation or diarrhea. By alleviating a range of gastrointestinal disease symptoms, it improves overall gastrointestinal health for patients.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 100-200 mg of Trimebutine Maleate orally three times a day before meals. Adjust dosage appropriately based on age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication may affect the gastrointestinal system and can rarely cause symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, dry mouth, and oral numbness. Additionally, tachycardia may occur rarely. It may also affect the central nervous system, potentially leading to fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches. It can impact liver function and may result in elevated liver enzyme levels, so caution is advised. Allergic reactions such as rashes can occur, and if such symptoms arise, the medication should be discontinued. Due to insufficient evidence regarding the safety of this medication during pregnancy, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication only if the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks. Lactating women should also avoid using this medication unless absolutely necessary, and if it must be taken, nursing should be stopped. Since this medication contains lactose, patients with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medication.
