Thioctic acid helps supply when demand in the body increases during intense physical labor, and is used for the treatment of subacute necrotizing encephalomyelitis such as Leigh syndrome. It is also effective in treating toxic cochlear hearing loss caused by streptomycin or kanamycin, as well as noise-induced cochlear hearing loss. If no effect is observed after approximately 1 month of administration, continued use is not recommended. This medication helps improve symptoms such as hearing loss through cautious use.
