Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to the active ingredient or any component of the formulation. Neurological symptoms such as headache, taste disturbances, and dizziness may occur while using this medication. Eye-related issues may include punctate keratitis, keratitis, ocular pain, dry eyes, eyelid swelling, itching, discharge, redness, changes in eyelid skin, and ocular discomfort. Additionally, glare or blurred vision, and eyelid redness may rarely occur. Respiratory symptoms such as nasal dryness or rhinitis have also been reported, and skin symptoms like dry mouth or contact dermatitis may rarely occur. Fatigue may also appear infrequently. In clinical trials, cold and pharyngitis-like symptoms occurred in about 10% of patients, and symptoms such as fatigue, lower back pain, flu-like symptoms, frequent coughing, infections, nausea, and sinusitis were also reported in some patients. This medication contains phosphate components, and very rarely, corneal calcification may occur in patients with severe corneal damage. This medication should not be used for irritation related to contact lens wear, as the component benzalkonium chloride can cause eye irritation and discolor soft contact lenses. Therefore, contact lenses can only be re-worn after at least 15 minutes have passed since instillation. Additionally, this medication is a non-sedating antihistamine, which may temporarily cause blurred vision after use; thus, one should wait until vision returns to normal before driving or operating machinery. Research on interactions of this medication with other drugs has not yet been conducted. During pregnancy, animal studies have confirmed the possibility of affecting some fetuses; thus, the risks and benefits should be carefully considered before use by pregnant women. Breastfeeding women should also be cautious as this medication's components may be excreted in breast milk, and it should be used only after consulting with a healthcare provider, while being mindful of potential effects on the infant. It can be safely used in children aged 3 years and older, and elderly patients can use it without special precautions. In case of overdose, appropriate observation and management are necessary. This medication is an eye drop solution for external use only and should not be taken orally or injected intravenously. When using, care should be taken to avoid the tip of the container touching the eye or hands, and the cap should be closed tightly when not in use. If using with other eye medications, they should be administered with at least a 5-minute interval, and ointments should be applied last. When storing, ensure the cap is tightly closed after use and store it cleanly. This medication has been confirmed as safe in carcinogenic, mutagenic, and reproductive toxicity tests; however, caution is advised during pregnancy.
