Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with specific skin infections. Skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or animals may worsen symptoms. Patients allergic to this medication or its components should also not use it. It is recommended that patients with ear infections with a perforated eardrum, ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite avoid this medication. It is also not to be administered to patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, rosacea, or those with itching around the anus and genitals. It is contraindicated for infants under 2 years of age. Particular caution is advised when used by pregnant or potentially pregnant women, nursing mothers, children, and the elderly. This medication contains propylene glycol, so caution is necessary if there is an allergy to this ingredient. Infection may occur on the skin, and during use, symptoms of skin irritation, rash, itching, and skin dryness may appear. Long-term use can result in side effects such as thinning of the skin or vasodilation; usage should be discontinued if these symptoms occur. Prolonged use on large body areas or using occlusive dressings may affect the entire body and suppress pituitary and adrenal functions, necessitating caution. When used around the eyes, there is a risk of increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma, so care is required. Although this medication is generally not used for eczema or dermatitis accompanied by skin infections, if it must be used, it is advisable to use it in conjunction with antibiotics or antifungals. If this medication is extensively used, blood cortisol levels should be monitored to check for side effects, and it should be discontinued as soon as symptoms improve. Pregnant or nursing women should only use this medication if absolutely necessary, as it may affect the fetus or baby. Children absorb more of the drug relative to their weight, increasing the risk of side effects, so it should not be used continuously for more than 3 weeks and should be closely monitored. Elderly patients may experience side effects more easily, so careful observation is needed when using large doses or for extended periods. This medication should not be used for ophthalmic purposes and should not be applied for non-therapeutic reasons such as after makeup or shaving. When using occlusive dressings, it should be done according to medical guidance and be applied after ensuring the affected area is clean to reduce the risk of infection. Store in a safe place out of reach of children.
