This medication is used for various joint and muscle disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), and periarthritis of the scapulohumeral joint. It is also effective for alleviating pain from dental pain, inflammation due to trauma, lower back pain, sciatica, and non-articular rheumatism. In other words, this medication is used to improve inflammation and pain associated with multiple types of arthritis.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Take 100 mg of aceclofenac every 12 hours, twice a day. Do not chew or crush this medication; swallow it whole. Dosage may be adjusted appropriately based on symptoms. To minimize cardiovascular adverse reactions, the lowest effective dose should be administered for the shortest duration necessary.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three cups of alcohol daily, as it may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding; consultation with a physician or pharmacist is necessary. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, so patients with heart or cerebrovascular diseases or risk factors should carefully consider whether to take it. This medication can cause serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforations, especially in elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal disease, who must exercise additional caution. Individuals with active peptic ulcers or bleeding, or who are allergic to this medication or similar drugs, should not take it.
