Thioctic acid helps to meet the increased bodily demand during intense physical labor and is used for the treatment of subacute necrotizing myelitis, as seen in Leigh syndrome. It is also effective for toxic sensorineural hearing loss following the use of streptomycin and gentamicin, as well as noise-induced sensorineural hearing loss that occurs professionally. If no effect is observed after about one month of taking the medication, it is advisable not to continue taking it. This medication assists with neurological disorders and symptoms of hearing loss, thereby improving the quality of life for patients.
