This medication may interact with other antihypertensive agents or certain medications, so you must inform your doctor of any medications you are taking. Additionally, it is not safe for use in pregnant or nursing women, or children under 18 years of age as safety has not been established. Elderly patients may have decreased renal function, so treatment should start with a low dose while monitoring their condition, and care must also be taken with the method of taking this medication. For example, capsules should not be chewed or opened, and they should be taken out of their PTP packaging before consumption, and oral disintegrating tablets should be taken with water for safety.
