Treatment of acute non-infectious conjunctivitis (swelling, redness) and anterior segment inflammation (anterior uveitis, etc.), as well as post-surgical inflammation.
This medication is used to treat severe swelling and redness associated with acute non-infectious conjunctivitis and allergic keratitis, as well as non-infectious anterior segment inflammations such as anterior uveitis, scleritis, and episcleritis. It is also effective in alleviating inflammation that occurs after strabismus surgery, cataract surgery, and glaucoma surgery. Patients should understand that this medication helps reduce inflammation and swelling around the eyes, improving symptoms. Thus, it effectively treats inflammation caused by various ophthalmic conditions.
Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 2-3 times a day. In adults, during the first 24-48 hours, 1 drop may be instilled every hour.
This medication should not be used by individuals allergic to specific ingredients. It is also considered safe to avoid using this medication during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Patients with eye infections, glaucoma, or symptoms of dry eyes should refrain from using it. It should not be used if there is damage to the cornea or in cases of viral, bacterial, or fungal infections. It is advisable not to use this medication in children under the age of 2. Patients with heart disease, hypertension, thyroid problems, or diabetes should use this medication cautiously due to potential circulatory or metabolic issues. There may be interactions with other medications, so patients taking antihypertensives should be especially cautious. Individuals with a history of cataracts or dry nasal mucosa should also use this medication with care. The medication may cause temporary eye irritation and, with long-term use, could potentially raise intraocular pressure, making regular pressure checks important. Long-term use may result in symptoms like eye redness, allergic reactions, dermatitis, and rarely serious side effects such as cataracts or corneal damage. There is a risk of fungal infection in the eye tissue, so any signs of infection should be immediately discussed with a healthcare professional. Long-term use may lead to delayed wound healing and, in rare cases, systemic symptoms such as headaches or insomnia. During treatment, it is advised to avoid wearing soft contact lenses and to regularly check intraocular pressure and for signs of infection if used for more than 2-3 days. This medication may hide or worsen eye infections, so any symptoms of infection should be immediately communicated to healthcare professionals. Vision may be temporarily blurred after instillation, so it is safer to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. Infection with chickenpox or measles can pose risks, so it is essential to verify medical history and vaccination status before using this medication. Children and patients taking specific medications should be carefully monitored due to an increased risk of systemic side effects. This medication may raise blood pressure when used alongside certain antidepressants or antihypertensives, so concomitant use should be avoided. Additionally, combining it with specific antiviral medications could increase the risk of side effects and should be discussed with healthcare personnel. This medication has not been established as safe for children, indicating potential systemic side effects, so caution is warranted. In cases of overdose, severe mydriasis, cyanosis, or heart issues may occur, necessitating immediate emergency treatment. Before use, the solution should be well shaken, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact of the container tip with the eye. Single-use products should be used immediately after opening and any leftover medication must be discarded; avoid sharing to reduce infection risks. Store this medication in a cool, dry place out of reach of children and avoid transferring it to other containers.
