This medication is used in patients diagnosed with chronic persistent hepatitis characterized by continuously elevated SGPT levels. It helps improve liver function and reduce inflammation. By decreasing liver cell damage, it promotes the recovery of normal liver function and improves symptoms. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of chronic persistent hepatitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Usually, 1 capsule for adults, orally 3 times a day after meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with complete biliary obstruction. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medication. Patients with chronic active hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, hypokalemia, severe pancreatic disorders, peptic ulcers, or cholelithiasis should use this medication with caution. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occur upon taking this medication, and rarely, abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, and discomfort in the upper abdomen may also be experienced. Allergic reactions such as itching or rash may occur, and rarely, a skin rash may appear; however, these symptoms usually resolve when antihistamines are used together. Transient jaundice may appear; in such cases, stopping the medication or using jaundice treatment may improve the symptoms. Rarely, symptoms such as general malaise or dizziness may occur. If symptoms do not improve or abnormal symptoms appear after long-term use of this medication, it is important to consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately. It is important to keep this medication out of reach of children. It is advisable for pregnant women or women who may become pregnant not to take this medication, as there are reports from animal studies indicating potential harm to the fetus. Also, caution should be taken when using this medication together with oral diabetes medications, as it may enhance the effect of the diabetes medications.
