This medication is used to prevent and treat Vitamin D deficiency in elderly individuals. It helps maintain bone health in the elderly, reduces the risk of osteoporosis, and improves muscle weakness. This, in turn, reduces the risk of falls and enhances overall quality of life. Therefore, it is beneficial to adequately supplement Vitamin D to maintain health.

Adult administration

Administer according to doctor's prescription, adjusting the dose based on the level of 25-hydroxy Vitamin D in the blood. For the elderly, treatment effectiveness and tolerability should be reviewed within three months to determine whether re-administration is necessary. Administer cholecalciferol 100,000 IU intramuscularly.

Precautions

This medication contains Vitamin D, so when taking other medications or fortified foods that contain Vitamin D, it is essential to check the total intake of Vitamin D. Regularly monitor calcium levels in the blood and urine; if calcium levels become too high, the medication should be discontinued.
