This medication is effective in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and degenerative joint disease such as osteoarthritis. It also helps relieve fever and pain caused by colds, back pain, and menstrual cramps. It can be used for pain management following surgery. Additionally, it is applicable for treating ankylosing spondylitis, headaches, toothaches, muscle pain, sciatica, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis, soft tissue damage like bruises or sprains, and various non-articular rheumatic diseases. Thus, this drug is widely used for improving various types of pain and inflammation.

How to take

Adult dose

Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, soft tissue damage, non-articular rheumatic diseases, acute gout, psoriatic arthritis: 200-600 mg taken orally 3-4 times a day. This medication should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist if taken by anyone who regularly consumes more than three alcoholic drinks per day, as there is a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. Taking this medication may increase the risk of serious cardiovascular events, such as myocardial infarction or stroke. Caution is especially necessary in individuals with cardiovascular conditions or risk factors, and caution should be exercised for extended use or high doses. This medication can cause serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation. The risk is particularly heightened in older patients or those taking it for prolonged periods, so any unusual symptoms should be reported to healthcare providers immediately. Individuals with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, or severe blood, liver, kidney, or heart dysfunction should not take this medication. Those allergic to any ingredients of this medication or with a history of asthma should also avoid it. This medication should not be taken in doses that exceed the recommended amount and should not be taken in combination with other NSAIDs. If breastfeeding, either the medication should be discontinued or breastfeeding should be stopped, as this medication can transfer to breast milk and cause adverse reactions in infants. Individuals with blood disorders, bleeding tendencies, liver or kidney disease, heart disease, hypertension, or a history of hypersensitivity must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Additionally, consult with a specialist regarding potential interactions if taking specific other medications. If symptoms such as shock, difficulty breathing, severe skin rash, liver dysfunction, blood disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, or decreased kidney function occur while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult healthcare professionals. This medication should be taken for the shortest duration necessary at the minimum effective dose and require regular check-ups for any abnormalities during long-term usage. Special caution is required for patients with hypertension, heart failure, or liver or kidney disease. In case of overdose, symptoms may include dizziness, nausea, vomiting, kidney failure, difficulty breathing, and decreased blood pressure; seek medical attention immediately. Keep this medication out of the reach of children and store it in its original container for safety.

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication in conjunction with high-dose methotrexate used in chemotherapy. Patients taking low-dose aspirin, ACE inhibitors, lithium, furosemide and thiazide diuretics, low-dose methotrexate, coumarin anticoagulants, and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors should consult with a doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a container that blocks light. It's also important to keep the storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius to maintain its efficacy and prevent deterioration.
