Treatment and prevention of relapses of gastroesophageal reflux disease (erosive reflux esophagitis), treatment of Helicobacter pylori-positive peptic ulcers, etc., for the improvement of gastrointestinal diseases
This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, particularly erosive reflux esophagitis, and for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. It also helps relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. It is given in combination with antibiotics for the treatment and prevention of recurrence of peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. It is effective for treating symptoms associated with upper gastrointestinal disturbances that may occur with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and for the treatment and prevention of related gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. Additionally, it is used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for maintenance therapy after inducing prevention of re-bleeding via intravenous injection. It is used to improve various gastrointestinal diseases and related symptoms.
This medication should be swallowed with liquid, such as water, and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Adults 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - If untreated or symptoms persist, continue for an additional 4 weeks. - Maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence of esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - Treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis:
Adolescents aged 12 years and older 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - If untreated or symptoms persist, continue for an additional 4 weeks.
