Efficacy & effects

Improvement of hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia

View approved original text

This medication helps to control cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. In particular, it lowers levels of total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, apo-B protein, and triglycerides, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. It also helps increase HDL-cholesterol, the good cholesterol, to maintain a positive lipid profile. This medication is used as an adjunct to dietary measures to contribute to more effective management of blood lipids. Thus, it aids in improving cardiovascular health and is used in the overall treatment of dyslipidemia.

Additionally, there may be interactions with other medications, so patients must inform healthcare providers of any other medications they are currently taking.
