View approved original text

This medication helps to lower elevated triglyceride levels in patients with endogenous hypertriglyceridemia. It can be used alone for hypertriglyceridemia (Type IV) and in combination with statins for patients with hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia (Type IIb). It is especially effective when triglyceride levels are not being controlled, as it can be used together with statins. Therefore, this medication is useful for improving serum triglyceride levels.
