This medication is used for the treatment of osteoporosis in both postmenopausal women and men.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet (70 mg/2800 IU or 70 mg/5600 IU) of this medication once a week in the morning with a sufficient amount of water at least 30 minutes before meals, drinks, or other medications. This medication should be taken immediately upon waking, and you must not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it and until you have the first meal. Eating within 30 minutes after taking this medication or simultaneously with it may decrease absorption in the body.

Precautions

This medication may irritate the upper gastrointestinal mucosa, potentially causing esophagitis, esophageal ulcers, and esophageal erosions. If you experience difficulty swallowing, swallowing pain, pain behind the sternum, or heartburn while taking this medication, you should stop taking it immediately and consult a physician. It should be taken with a sufficient amount of water, and you should not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it, and the method of administration should be followed precisely. It should not be administered to patients with esophageal conditions that delay esophageal emptying, patients who cannot sit upright for at least 30 minutes, patients with an allergy to this drug's components, or patients with hypocalcemia. Patients with genetic lactose intolerance should also not take this medication. Side effects such as abdominal pain, nausea, dyspepsia, constipation, diarrhea, headache, musculoskeletal pain may occur, although they are mostly mild. Particular caution is needed for patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers, as the risk of gastrointestinal adverse reactions may increase when used along with aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. This medication's absorption may be hindered when taken with calcium supplements or antacids, hence a minimum interval of 30 minutes should be maintained. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, the decision to administer this medication should be made after consultation with a physician, and it should not be used in children. It is not recommended for patients with severe kidney impairment, and if there is hypocalcemia or vitamin D deficiency, treatment must be administered prior to this medication. Rarely, low-energy fractures may occur with long-term usage, so any unusual symptoms should be discussed immediately with a healthcare professional. This medication must be taken with at least a 30-minute period of sitting upright before the first food intake, and it should not be chewed or sucked. While on this medication, it is recommended to ensure sufficient intake of calcium and vitamin D, avoid weight-bearing exercises, smoking, and excessive drinking. In case of overdose, symptoms of hypocalcemia and gastrointestinal irritation may appear, and do not induce vomiting but seek medical attention immediately. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.

Abdominal pain, nausea, dyspepsia, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, acid reflux, vomiting, difficulty swallowing, abdominal distension, gastritis, musculoskeletal (bone, muscle, or joint) pain, muscle cramps, headache, dizziness, taste disorders, rash, itching, hair loss, scleritis, nasopharyngitis

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture. Additionally, it should be stored at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees, preferably in a dark place away from direct light.
