Relief of inflammatory diseases of the anterior eye (blepharitis, conjunctivitis, etc.)
This medication is used for various inflammatory diseases occurring in the anterior eye, such as blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, scleritis, and episcleritis. These conditions can cause discomfort and vision impairment due to inflammation in the surrounding ocular tissues, and this drug helps alleviate inflammation and improve symptoms. Therefore, it is effective for restoring eye health, reducing discomfort caused by inflammation, and aiding in rapid healing.
Instill 1-2 drops 2-4 times daily. Adjust as appropriate based on symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis, fungal eye diseases, mycobacterial infections, or chronic blepharitis. Additionally, patients with a history of allergic reactions to this medication should avoid its use. It is generally not used in patients with damaged corneal epithelium, corneal ulcers, tuberculosis-related or purulent eye diseases, glaucoma patients, and infants under 2 years of age. If necessary, it should be used with extreme caution. Long-term use may increase intraocular pressure, leading to glaucoma or optic nerve damage, so regular eye pressure checks are required. Severe infections such as herpes keratitis, fungal infections, and Pseudomonas infections can occur, requiring immediate treatment if such symptoms appear. Prolonged use of this medication may result in cataracts and increased risk of secondary infections due to immune response suppression. In cases of acute purulent eye infections, symptoms may be masked or worsened by using this medication, so caution is advised. Side effects such as eye inflammation, redness, accommodation problems, and eyelid drooping may also occur. Additionally, delayed wound healing or blister formation may happen, necessitating particular caution after surgery. Long-term use may also influence the body's hormonal function, so attention is required. If allergic symptoms appear, use should be immediately discontinued. This medication contains phosphates; in patients with severe corneal damage, calcification in the cornea may rarely occur. Using this medication on reddened eyes without a doctor's diagnosis poses a risk of vision loss, so consultation with a specialist is essential. Patients with a history of herpes simplex require careful monitoring, and those using it for more than 10 days should have periodic eye pressure checks. If inflammation or pain persists or worsens for more than 48 hours, usage should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. Patients wearing contact lenses should remove them before using this medication and wait at least 30 minutes after application to reinsert them. Temporary blurring of vision may occur after instillation, so driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided. Care should be taken, especially in children or patients taking certain medications, as there may be a risk of systemic side effects. Using this medication alongside certain antiviral drugs may increase the risk of side effects, so it is essential to consult a doctor. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid prolonged use, and nursing mothers should refrain from administration, and if necessitated, stop breastfeeding. Pediatric and geriatric patients require special caution due to different physiological capabilities. This medication is for ophthalmic use only and care should be taken to avoid the tip of the container coming into direct contact with the eye. It should be well shaken before use, and it is advisable not to share it with others to prevent contamination. For storage, keep it in a sealed container to protect from air and moisture, and it is safe to store at room temperature between 1°C and 30°C. To maintain the drug's effectiveness, it should be kept away from direct sunlight and stored in a cool, dry place.
