Chronic persistent hepatitis is a condition characterized by ongoing inflammation in the liver and persistently elevated levels of SGPT in the blood. This medication helps reduce liver inflammation and improve liver function to maintain a healthy liver state. It is therefore used in the treatment of chronic persistent hepatitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, for adults, take 1 capsule 3 times a day after meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with complete bile duct obstruction. Additionally, it includes lactose, so patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not use it. Caution should be exercised when using this medication in patients with chronic active hepatitis, cirrhosis, hypokalemia, severe pancreatic diseases, peptic ulcers, or cholelithiasis. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as occasional diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occur, and rarely abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, and discomfort in the stomach may also be experienced. Moreover, allergic reactions such as itching or rashes may appear, and occasionally skin rashes can occur, but usually, symptoms disappear when taken with antihistamines. Transient jaundice may occur, however, the symptoms will resolve if either the medication is discontinued or jaundice treatment is given. Additionally, rare symptoms such as general fatigue or dizziness may occur. If symptoms do not improve after taking this medication for up to 8 weeks or if any abnormal symptoms arise, it should be discontinued immediately, and consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is recommended. It is important to keep this medication out of reach of children. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant are advised not to use this medication due to reported harmful effects on the fetus in animal studies. If taken together with oral diabetes medications, the effect of the diabetes medications may be enhanced, hence it should be used carefully under the guidance of a doctor in such cases.
