This medication helps alleviate the symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia, reduce the size of the enlarged prostate, and improve urination. It also helps decrease the occurrence of acute urinary retention and reduces the need for surgeries such as transurethral resection of the prostate or prostatectomy. Therefore, it is effectively used for the treatment of prostatic hypertrophy.

How to take

Adult dose

As Finasteride, 5 mg is administered orally once daily, regardless of meals. Even if symptoms improve, a minimum treatment period of 6 months is required.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by children or women. In particular, pregnant or potentially pregnant women should not touch broken or crushed pieces of this medication, as it may pose potential risks to male fetuses.
