This medication is used to treat gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, and erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also effective for relief of symptoms due to gastroesophageal reflux disease and for long-term maintenance therapy. For patients with gastrointestinal ulcers due to Helicobacter pylori infection, it is used in combination with antibiotics. It also helps inhibit excessive gastric acid secretion in patients with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Overall, it is used for the treatment of various gastrointestinal conditions and symptom improvement.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough + fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and very severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual changes, paralysis, urination.

Mild side effects

Rash, itching, blood-related abnormalities (anemia, leukopenia, leukocytosis, eosinophilia, neutrophilia, lymphopenia, hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, etc.), elevated liver enzymes (ALT, AST, ALP, γ-GTP, LDH, total bilirubin), hypertension, myocardial infarction, ECG abnormalities, migraine, syncope, angina, cardiac arrhythmia, palpitations.
